Final exam

The process of writing the Doctoral thesis evolves along the following steps:

- the intermediate results to present each year;
- the final discussion.

At the end of the doctoral program, Ph.D. candidates must submit their thesis, consisting of a suitable body of original academic research.

Instructions for applying to the final exam are available here.

The final exam takes place in front of the Evaluation Committee, and consists of a public defense of the thesis. Having passed the final exam, students obtain the Ph.D. degree.

After the granting of the degree, the Tor Vergata University Doctoral School sends a copy of each Ph.D. thesis to the national libraries of Roma and Firenze. Each thesis will also be disseminated on the DSpace@Tor Vergata web site through an open access archive.
