Model reduction provides a method to approximate a complex, possibly very large scale system with a simplified model, which captures the key properties of the complex system that are relevant for an application of interest. As such, model reduction is a key tool in several tasks such as control design and simulation.

The course introduces tools for model reduction, with special emphasis on methods based on moment matching.
