Abstract
During the seminar the fake news problem will be presented. Selected details will be discussed: history and background of the fake news, the fake news spreading, the novel approaches to fake news detection. We will discuss also the possible methods of limiting the fake news spreading. During the seminar the realistic examples will be given. Thanks to this anyone attending the meeting will be able to experience how difficult can be differentiating news.
Short Bio
Agata Giełczyk, PhD Eng., is an academic teacher and researcher working on the Bydgoszcz University of Science and Technology in Bydgoszcz since 2016. She obtained her PhD in 2020 defending the thesis on palmprint biometrics. She has been an author of ca. 30 scientific publications, including the IF journals and international conferences in Europe (Italy, France, Ireland etc.). She has been a teacher of numerous courses, mostly programming (Java, C and Python) and image processing, both in English and Polish. She has been involved in several external founding projects concerning different cybersecurity issues (like H2020 InfraStress or H2020 SocialTruth). Currently, she is a coordinator of the ATENA project (Artificial inTElligence traiNing progrAmme). She has a vast international experience (including an internship in Cagliari 2019 and staff mobility in Naples 2022). Recently, she has finished her postgraduate studies from Agile project management. Privately, she is passionate about travel, hiking in mountains and martial arts.
